We strongly encourage patients to make an appointment ahead of time, as this helps us ensure we can help every patient that needs us, give them the time they need, and reduce the time each patient has to wait to be seen. If this is a medical emergency, please call 911 for immediate assistance. Otherwise, our staff is standing by to help. Call us at 212-548-3263, and we will be happy to find an appointment time that is convenient for you. If, for any reason, you need to cancel an appointment, please try to give us 24 hours notice.

What to Expect

The multilingual staff at our Upper East Side Manhattan office will greet you as you enter the door and make you feel right at home. If you have already completed your new patient paperwork, just have a seat in one of our waiting room chairs. Be sure to have your photo ID and insurance card with you. Please let us know if there is anything you need. They will also be happy to help you with any last-minute questions you have. If you were not able to complete the new patient information form ahead of time, that is okay. Just let our front office staff know, and they will be happy to help you.

Initial Examination

You can expect your first appointment with Dr. Gafanovich to take about an hour. During this initial appointment, it will be clear that you are not just a number to her but a person she truly wants to help be healthy and thrive. She will gather information on your lifestyle and current and past health concerns and order any necessary diagnostic tests. Her chief priority is getting to know you and crafting an accurate picture of your health. Remember to bring with you information on your health history, including a list of current medications. She will take plenty of time to answer any questions you have and address any pressing health concerns.
