Lab Tests and ECG in Our Office

Many tests you would normally need to schedule elsewhere are done right in our Upper East Side office, during your visit. Blood is drawn on site and sent to the lab, and Dr. Marina Gafanovich reviews every result with you.

ECG (electrocardiogram) — heart rhythm and heart muscle
Spirometry — lung function
Urinalysis
H. pylori breath test — for ulcer-related stomach symptoms
Hearing test
Ankle-brachial index (ABI) — circulation in the legs
Abdominal aorta scan
Blood pressure, oxygen level and blood sugar checks

Blood tests (drawn in the office, sent to the lab)

Complete blood count (CBC) and comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)
Cholesterol (lipid panel)
HbA1c and glucose
Thyroid panel
Vitamins B12, D and folate; iron studies
PSA
Hepatitis A, B and C

QuantiFERON-TB Gold
Coagulation tests (PT/INR)

How it works

Most tests are ordered during a visit with the doctor, so we know exactly what you need and why.
Blood is drawn in the office. If fasting is needed, we’ll tell you in advance.
Results usually arrive within 1–5 business days.
Dr. Gafanovich reviews the results and contacts you. Abnormal results are always explained, with next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get blood work without seeing the doctor?

Tests are ordered by the doctor after a visit (in person or by telehealth), so results are interpreted in the context of your health.

Do I need to fast?

Only for certain tests, such as some cholesterol and glucose tests. We’ll tell you when you book.

Is lab work covered by insurance?

Usually yes, when it is medically necessary.
