Telehealth Visits with Your NYC Doctor

Not every health problem needs a trip to the office. With a telehealth visit you can talk to Dr. Marina Gafanovich by video from home or work, get a diagnosis and have prescriptions sent to your pharmacy — often the same day.

  • Board-certified internist
  • Affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell
  • On the Upper East Side since 2008
  • Blood work & ECG in the office

At a glance

  • How: secure video call on your phone or computer
  • Where you must be: in New York State during the visit
  • Visit length: about 15–20 minutes
  • Insurance: most plans cover telehealth like a regular office visit; self-pay price on request

What telehealth is good for

  • Cough, cold and flu symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Sinus infection
  • Ear pain
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • COVID-19 — positive test, symptoms and treatment options
  • Urinary tract infection symptoms
  • Rashes and minor skin problems (you can show them on camera)
  • Prescription refills for stable chronic conditions
  • Follow-up visits to discuss test results
  • Travel health questions before a trip

When you need to come in person

Telehealth has limits. The doctor may ask you to come to the office if you need an exam, a test (ECG, blood work, urinalysis) or a vaccine. Annual physicals, immigration exams and pre-op clearance require an in-person visit.

If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of a stroke or another emergency, call 911.

How it works

  1. Book. Call 212-249-6218 or book online and choose a telehealth visit.
  2. Get the link. You receive a secure link before the appointment.
  3. Connect. Find a quiet, private place with good lighting. Have your medication list and pharmacy details ready.
  4. Talk to the doctor. Describe your symptoms; the doctor may ask you to show the throat, eye or rash on camera.
  5. Treatment. Prescriptions go electronically to your pharmacy. If needed, we schedule an in-office follow-up.
